PO40 This Week: Sew New & Haircuts!

Sherry Dryja showing off her shaggy new haircut.

In an attempt to keep this blog somewhat relevant, I’m in the process of updating everything. It is a process, so don’t be surprised if it changes again and again and again. But after chipping away at the design, it felt time to post something, even if it’s minor news and mirror selfies pulled from Instagram. None of the links in this post are affiliated with anyone. I post them as resources to you.

Sewing News: FINALLY Finished!

I started these joggers months ago but got derailed by a lack of “sewjo”. When it came to sewing projects, I just couldn’t get geared up.

Sewing News: I finally finished the McCall joggers I started months ago!

Maybe it’s the gorgeous weather outside or my newfound freedom from the virus or going off a preventative migraine medication that was dragging my energy. Whatever the reason, I’m experiencing sparks and crackles of sewjo again. I finished these joggers earlier this week and am getting ready to tackle a muslin for Sew House Seven’s Burnside Bibs. Stay tuned!

Joggers Pattern: McCall’s M7610
Fabric: Stretchy knit from FabScrap.org.

New, Fresh Haircut!

One year and two months—that’s how long I went without a professional haircut. For me, that’s an eternity. It’s a ritual that is part of my mental and physical well-being. This week, the long wait ended, thanks to the vaccine!

Haircut News: After a year-plus, I finally got my hair cut by a professional!

Thank you, Laura at Beehive Salon for the haircut I’ve been dreaming about and for making my first step back into the outer world so welcoming. Next month, color!

Birdbath Bonus

As part of my new web format, I’m including tidbits of nature. The pandemic taught me how soothing nature can be in times of extreme anxiety, so I share here a moment of cuteness from my birdbath. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
